Heroes of Time - Cover and Details

The Covers and Details for the Brand new exclusive to Ultimate Doctor Who and Heroes Updated e-book has been revealed. It's called Heroes of Time and features the Doctor trying to track down the evil Sylar (not me) before he kills even more people. He teams up with some of the Heroes until he finds out that Sylar is also trying to Track down the Doctor to get his hand on the Time-Lord's technology, which means they all have to go their Seperate Ways.

Plot: The Doctor discovers that Peter Petrelli saw the TARDIS disappear out of nowhere, and leaves Peter curious. The Doctor teams up with Hiro Nakumura and Peter Petrelli to help stop the evil Murderer, and along the way, meets some other Heroes that need protecting from Sylar. Can The Doctor save the Day once again? and this Time with the Help of some other Heroes? All will be Revealed in 'Heroes of Time'!

David Tennant - Talks Matt Smith

In a Recent Interview on What's on TV magazine, David Tennant expressed his thoughts on Matt Smith playing the Eleventh Doctor and revealed that they had a 'Doctor to Doctor' talk and said that Matt Smith had the 'Right Idea' on Playing the 900 year old Time-Lord.

"We chatted on the phone not long ago and we did exchange a few opinions on what’s about to unfold for him, but advice is a very dangerous thing. Matt’s got an extraordinary journey coming up in all sorts of ways and I’m sure he’ll find his own way through it."

"I could tell Matt was very up for it, though, and excited in all the right ways. He says he’s going to take it very seriously and he seems to have the right idea about playing The Doctor, so far as I can tell."

Matt Smith will take over as the Doctor next year in Series 5. And Tennant will continue to play the Tenth Incarnation for specials due to be broadcast in 2009 and 2010.

Lindsay Duncan to Star in Doctor Who

It's been confirmed by the BBC that 58 year old actress, Lindsay Duncan will play a character

called Adelaide in the second of the planned four 2009-10 specials.

"I'm thrilled to be involved in Doctor Who. I've never done anything like

this before and I'm really looking forward to working with David Tennant and the Doctor Who team."

Duncan previously appeared in shows such as Rome and Criminal Justice.

The special is rumoured to air at around Summer or Halloween time and will be preceded by the Easter special, Planet of The Dead, which stars Michelle Ryan as the companion.

Red Nose Day - Sarah Jane Adventures

BBC have confirmed that a one-off Sarah Jane Adventures mini-episode will air on the night of Red Nose Day at 7pm. This episode will feature Ronnie Corbett and the return of K-9. It will be written by Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman. And apparently "an Old Enemy Returns..."

Elizabeth Sladen, Thomas Knight, Daniel Anthony and Anjli Mohindra will all return for this one-off sketch.

Doctor Who Filimg - Dubai

The Official BBC Doctor Who site Have confirmed that filming for the next Doctor Who episode, Planet of The Dead, is taking place in Dubai at the moment.

"We rarely take Doctor Who abroad, We did visit Rome for Series Four's The Fires of Pompeii - which gave us some spectacular footage. The locations in Dubai are a perfect match for writer Russell T Davies's vision of the episode and we expect to film some incredible scenes while we are here." Reports Tracie Simpsons who is producing this episode.

Matt Smith to Play The Doctor for at Least Three Years

According to The Sun, (which by the way usually get these things wrong) Matt Smith will apparently play The Eleventh Doctor for at least three years and even, maybe, up to Five Years. [Smith] has signed a £200,000-a-year deal with the BBC1 sci-fi hit, The Sun reports.

This Maybe good news for some and bad news for others if you are not a fan of Matt Smith.

Noel Clarke Wins BAFTA

Noel Clarke who Plays Mickey Smith in Doctor Who has won the award for Orange Rising Star at this Years BAFTA's. This was the only award given at the ceremony, that was voted by the public.

He won the award for his role as starring and writing in the movies Kidulthood and it's 2008 sequel, Adulthood.

In a Recent Interview with the The South Wales Post, Russell T. Davies stated that he is confident that a Doctor Who Movie will be released.

"There must be ways and means of doing it. I suspect one day it will happen. I think once something is talked about often enough then it starts to happen. Being talked about in the papers could almost bring it into existence. It gives us an idea of whether or not anyone would want to go and see it at the cinema."

Matt Smith - I'm Not a Doctor Who Fan

Matt Smith, who is due to appear as The Eleventh Doctor next year, claimed to not being a Doctor Who Fan and saying he has rarely watched it.

"I wasn't a Who fan. I have to be honest - I can't claim to have watched the show in its entirety or have been a follower as avidly as some people are."

Lets hope he gets more into it over the next year as he is due to appear in Series 5 as The Eleventh Doctor.

Welcome Back

UDW was closed overnight due to major Reconstruction. So if you thought there was something wrong with your PC, Mac, Laptop or whatever you use, you thought wrong. Yesterday Evening and This Morning, I was working very hard to give the site a better, more brighter look. Nothing has disappeared, in fact the layout is pretty much the same, but the style is different and the main Font has changed. The sidebar titles have changed, the colour has changed, the banners have changed, the background pic has changed and more stuff too. Euros Lyn to Direct Tennant Finale

It was recently announced that Euros Lyn, who has directed 9 episodes of Doctor Who before, will return to direct the final 2 episodes featuring David Tennant as The Tenth Doctor. Tracie Simpson reports:

"The Production Tem has moved heaven and earth to Shackle Euros to Upper Boat, cos everyone loves working with him so much - bye the time he's moved directing Torchwood Children of Earth, back on to Doctor Who, he'll have spent an entire year with us! And this means, of course, that Euros will be handling David Tennant's final adventure as the Doctor, which promises to be a piece of television history!"

The Next Special, Planet of The Dead will air this Spring followed by three other specials leading into Early 2010.

Doctor Who in High Definition

The 2009 specials for Doctor Who will be filmed in High Definition this year, reports Doctor Who Magazine. Planet of The Dead recently started filming in HD and the following specials will continue to use the format. It's been described as "a more intense viewing experience" by Julie Gardner.

Planet of The Dead will air this Spring on BBC One and BBC HD.

K9 to Return

K9, who has appeared in Doctor Who numerous times before is expected to return in the Third Series of The Sarah Jane Adventures this Autumn when it's thrid Series arrives. Here is what Nikki Smith, the Producer of The Sarah Jane Adventures said:

We've already got 10 scripts at first draft stage, and I can now announce that K9 is going to make a return to Sarah Janes attic! Hes been locked away in that safe, saving the world from a Black Hole, for far too long now. I can promise that the fun is only just beginning - just wait till he gets to meet Mr Smith properly.

K9 will also return in a new Autralian-made show later this year.

Doctor Who Magazine - Issue 405

Torchwood Trailer - Children of Earth

It's Been Confirmed by the BBC that a 60 second preview for the new series of Torchwood, Children of Earth, will be shown on the BBC website this Thursday. Children of Earth is the third series of Torchwood expected to begin around Summer Time. It will have five episodes and will air over one week.

Speaking of Torchwood, a new page dedicated to the hit spin-off will arrive to the site over the weekend, and will be updated with Torchwood News and Episode Guides.

The Darksmith Legacy - Books One and Two Released

BBC Books have released the Cover and Release date for the the new, Children of Time Sticker Book, which is due to go on sale on May 28th 2009. It is a poster book with 25 re-usable Stickers.

Another Doctor Who Book expected to be released on October 8th 2009, is the Ultimate Monster Guide, which gives you plenty of information on The Monsters and Villains the Doctor has had to battle.

'K-9' Coming Soon

Who's a good dog?

K9 is a new Australian spin-off to Doctor Who and I suppose to The Sarah Jane Adventures too, that features our favourite Robot Dog!. The show is created by Paul Tams and Bob Baker. There will be 13 blocks, comprising of two half hour episodes each.

Principal Photography is set to end on May 7th.

"We first planned and created the show back in 1998, so it has taken 11 years to get to the production stage. It has been a long and rocky road and we are working with some very talented people here: actors, artists, sculptors, costume-makers. The schedule is very hectic and full on."

K9 is expected to begin later this year.

Review - Journal of Impossible Things

The Journal of Impossible Things is a very detailed approach to the actual one that featured in the Human Nature/Family of Blood 2 - parter. It features 78 pages, in which 21 of them are blank so you can write anything you like on it. It features the pages that you've seen in the episode, and I think it even features a bit more that were added in to make it longer. You can view some of the pictures put together below. It includes Pictures of The Cybermen, The Slitheen, Daleks, Rose, All Ten Doctors and many many more! The only thing, that did dissapoint me though, is that you simply can't read the writing! But it does make it look good and sort of old fashioned though. The Journal of Impossible Things set comes with a mini-sonic screwdriver which I did actually like, even though I have the normal one and the future one, but it's still good and much more compact, but that doesn't mean It's better than the normal ones! It has a blue LED light and it's a pen too, It's much more easier to write with this one, rather than the bigger one. I think this Journal of Impossible Things and Mini-Sonic Screwdriver set deserves an 8/10, and it's a great buy! You can buy it in Argos now at the price of £9.79 and other stores like Forbidden Planet.

Planet of The Dead Monster Revealed

At Last!

The monster for the upcoming special, Planet of The Dead has been revealed. The monster is called 'The Tritovore' which is apparently supposed to be really really scary! Here is an extract from the article at the Mirror Website:

"Everyone remembers the Daleks and the Cyberman, but not a lot else if they're honest.
"The Tritovore will change that. They are disgusting and will last long in the memory."

What really gets me though is the fact that Russell T. Davies, the show's head writer said that he is going to use the creatures in three other special shows.

David Tennant - Comic Relief

David Tennant who plays the Tenth incarnation of the Doctor will co-host this years Comic Relief on March 13th. He Will co-host the first hour alongside Davina McCall who is known for presenting the popular show, Big Brother. Here is an extract from the artice:

“It’s a great honour for me. I remember the first Red Nose Day when I was at school, buying the t-shirt and everyone joining in, And then, later, at drama school, me and my mate Alan McCue formed a Proclaimers tribute act and went busking in Sauchiehall Street. We were rubbish, but earned £65 in our lunch hour. The people of Glasgow are very generous.”

Double Decker Chaos!

Decker Wrecker!

Doctor Who bosses hired two £20,000 Double-Deckers for the upcoming special, Planet of The Dead. One of them was part of filming in Cardiff, while the other was being shipped off to Dubai. But some stupid, idiotic Crane Operator managed to “total” the second 1980 Bristol VR model while unloading it in Dubai docks. Apparently Russell T. Davies "Exploded" when he heard there would be no replacement. He is currently re-writing a new plotline which means Planet of The Dead will definetly be delayed.

David Tennant has won yet another award, but this time it's for acting on stage rather than playing The Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. He was the joint winner of the best Shakespearean performance gong at the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards in London. He won the award for his role in Hamlet.

The New Doctor Who money box is due to be released on June 30th 2009 with the price of 5.99 in the UK and about 8 euro in the Republic of Ireland.

It's very different from any other money box, when you put the coins or notes in it looks like they've disappeared! How Very Clever! Although its a very long wait as its released over 6 months from now, but I guess we can survive without it :)!

Great News Everyone! The UDW series, Man of Gallifrey schedule has been changed to weekly rather than fortnightly. There are two reasons for this: First of All, I just thought it would be better to get a weekly serving rather than having to wait 2 weeks for the next episode. Second of all, Many many people are also doing fortnightly FanFics so I didn't want my episodes to come out at the same time as theirs, so please, whoever has a fanfic and wants to change their schedule to the same as mine. Please Don't! Thanks Very Much.

Planet of The Dead - Possible Delay

The forthcoming special for Doctor Who, Planet of The Dead, could possible be delayed. During filming there was a double-decker bus that was being shipped to Dubai for some filming. Although it was badly damaged and the BBC are finding it very hard to find a replacement. This means now that Russell T. Davies who is writing the episode will have to rewrite parts of the episode, which means that the much awaited special could be delayed to Late Spring rather then Easter.

This makes me sad because if it was at Easter Time it was probably going to be on my Birthday :( . Ah Well, Thats Life.

Below is the Planet of The Dead press release that came off the Official BBCi Site.

The BBC has confirmed that Michelle Ryan and Lee Evans will guest star in the forthcoming Doctor Who Easter Special which began filming this week in Wales.

Michelle, best known for her roles as Zoe Slater in EastEnders, and Jaime Sommers in the recent remake of Bionic Woman, will play the mysterious Lady Christina de Souza in the special episode entitled Planet of the Dead. Christina joins the Doctor on a bus-trip which takes a very unexpected detour into danger.

"I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who and very excited to be joining David Tennant and the Doctor Who team," said Michelle. "It is such a fantastic show and I can't wait to get started!"

One of Britain's best loved and biggest comedy stars, Lee Evans, will also be joining the cast playing a character called Malcolm, whose life becomes connected to the Doctor's under extraordinary circumstances.

Planet of the Dead is the first of four Doctor Who Specials which will air in 2009. Michelle joins David Tennant as he continues his role as The Doctor, and Noma Dumezweni who returns as Captain Erisa Magambo - last seen helping Rose and Donna save the world in Turn Left.

"Michelle is one of the most sought after young actors in the country and we are delighted to announce that she will be joining the team," said Executive Producer and writer Russell T Davies. "As always the script is being kept strictly under wraps - however we can reveal that Lady Christina is a woman with a mysterious past who's going to have a huge impact on the Doctor!"

Planet of the Dead, written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts, is currently in production and will be screened on BBC One in Spring 2009.

This Has not yet been officially confirmed but apparently Lee Evans will play a character called Malcom in the upcoming special, Planet of The Dead. It was also revealed that ex-EastEnders star, Michelle Ryan will star as Lady Christina de Souza. Herself and the Doctor will take a bus trip that has a detour into danger... Although according to Combom (who I should really give credit to for this post) Lee Evans might not appear has he has used the name 'Malcom' before as he often used this dysfunctional character to illustrate how he viewed unusual people in the world. And as I said earlier credit to Combom for this post! :)

'Planet of The Dead' - Filming Begins

Today's The Day, filming has begun for the next Doctor Who episode, Planet of The Dead. Filming will take place in a museum tonight. Apparently there's a globe sort of thing being put up around the museum. Hmmmm...Globes are usually the shape of planets aren't they? Suspicious. I've released the Titles for some of the episodes for the upcoming UDW series Man of Gallifrey. I'm also planning on changing the schedule to weekly rather than fortnightly. You can see the titles around the middle of the sidebar.

In other news The Next Doctor was released today all around the UK with the RRP price £15.99 it was also released on Friday 16th January in the Republic of Ireland for €19.99 in most shops.

I'm very happy to announce that Ultimate Doctor Who will be launching it's own 13 Part Series revolving around the Doctor and new, fictional companion Jessica Slater. The series is called Doctor Who: Man of Gallifrey and will begin with it's premiere episode Friends and Foes next week on a new page which will be up soon. It will be fortnightly and will begin Saturday January 24 2009 on this Website!

Former EastEnder's star, Michelle Ryan, is reportedly going to play The Eleventh Doctor's companion next year in Series 5. A source on the show said: "Michelle's been in secret talks with BBC bosses. Ultimate Doctor Who is still undergoing some changes to get the site to look better. Today, a brand new look arrived to the site. Instead of the usual Denim template I changed it around a bit, and now instead of having just a colour in the background it has the UDW logo (even though you can't see all of the pic, it still looks good, right?) All that's left to do is to change around the page links (I'm just not happy with them at the moment) and maybe 1 or 2 other things as well.

Just a reminder that the 2008 Christmas Special, The Next Doctor, will be released on the coming Monday. It has an RRP Price of £15.99. Although the British release date is on Monday, it came out yesterday in the Republic or Ireland for €20.00 . Which Means I Have It :P . It also features the Doctor Who at The Proms mini-episode, Music of The Spheres.

The Torchwood Series 3 mini-series, Children Of Earth, has unfortunately been delayed until Summer 2009. This is due to BBC America planning to show it as the same time as BBC one in the UK. But Don't worry, we still have Doctor Who - Planet of The Dead to look forward to, and then The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 3 in Autumn. And this means we have something from the Whoniverse to take place in Summer!

The Doctor Who DVD Files

Tomorrow we see the release of the new DVD Files Magazine. Every issue in this fortnightly magazine a DVD comes free Featuring 2 episodes of Doctor Who. Issue 1 is priced £1.99 in the UK and about €3 or €4 in Ireland. From Issue 2 it will cost £6.99 and about €10 to €12 in Ireland. It will Have 28 Issues. Although it could leead to more Issues like Battles In Time did.

Well, I'm actually about half way through making Issue 1 for UDWM so I've decided to launch the magazine this month on January 24. And since the magazine is Bi-Montly the second issue will be released Late March. The Schedule for UDW has changed a little. I've decided to not do the episode guides, but instead make a bi-monthly magazine called UDWM which is short for Ultimate Doctor Who Magazine. I'm currently making Issue 1. I do not yet know when It will launch, it could even be October for all we know. But I'm hoping to get the first Issue out in Springtime. It will feature the latest news, episode guides, stories and more. Just a Prediction

Okay, so I was reading the Production notes in this month's DWM (Issue 404) and noticed at the end Russell T. Davies Wrote The name of one new enemy in the Specials is written on this page somehwere. So I searched the page a few times and noticed something. Now this might sound stupid to some of you but others may find this interesting: Russell Says a bit of 'drought' will do us good, by that he means that no series this year will do us some good. But I think he meant drought as in a monster. The First special this year is called Planet of The Dead, which means it obviously revolves around a certain planet with some sort of death related stuff going on. Does that mean that there could be a certain 'drought' of lives on that planet. Or could it be that 'The Drought' could be the monster featured in Midnight? I don't know but he also says After the drought, the flood by 'flood' he means Series Five but still. I think 'drought' does have something to do with it, and I'm about 70% sure it definetly will. But as i said this is just a prediction and you know the way Russell always lies about things. Anyway if you have something to say about this comment here!

Most people were surprised to hear that Matt Smith would be playing the Doctor, but some other people? Maybe Not... More than a day before he was revealed Betfair.com changes Smith's odds from 33/1 to 1/3 favourite. BBC went to extreme lengths to make sure that no one would find out as only a few Beeb executives knew beforehand. A spokeswoman said:

"You don't bet on an unknown name like that without basing it on something. Some people seemed to know about him. However, the majority didn't and we were still taking far more money on favourites like Paterson Joseph, David Morrissey and James Nesbitt. We don't believe there were irregular betting patterns and there was certainly nothing to set our alarm bells ringing."

Now that it has been revealed that Matt Smith will play the Eleventh Doctor next year, who is gonna play his one and only faithful companion? Singer, Lily Allen is a favourite to join the Doctor. But other sources say that Strictly Come Dancing stars, Rachel Stevens and Kelly Brook are high on the Beeb's wish list. Auditons will take place over the next few months and filming for Series 5 begins in Summer.

Matt Smith is The Doctor!

Earlier on tonight it was revealed on the special Doctor Who Confidential that, 26 year old actor, Matt Smith, will play The Eleventh Doctor in Series 5 Next Year. Smith has appeared in other shows with Billie Piper such as Ruby in The Smoke and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He is the youngest actor ever to play the Doctor. Today, the BBC Press office have announced that the actor who will play the eleventh Doctor will be revealed in a special edition of Doctor Who Confidential titled The Eleventh Doctor. This Saturday on BBC One, Doctor Who Confidential will return with an episode called Ten Doctors. This is strange because it would usually air at a later time on BBC Three.
